Inpatient Drug Rehab & Addiction Treatment Center Raleigh NC

In 2018, a team of researchers at Duke University revealed some troubling statistics about North Carolina: The state “experienced an 800 percent increase in opioid drug deaths from 1999 to 2016, largely driven by a growth of illicit heroin use,: according to a study of the state’s death certificates. The report also pointed out that heroin overdoses increased 10 times since 2010, which means the need for North Carolina residents — and, by extension, individuals suffering from a drug problem in or near Raleigh — to have access to quality addiction treatment is more important than ever.

Fortunately, five hours to the west, between Knoxville, Tennessee, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is one of the most respected drug rehabs in the nation. Cornerstone of Recovery first opened in 1989 as a small, 18-bed facility, but over the course of three decades, we’ve treated thousands of addicts who have come to us seeking help for addiction, and we’ve grown into a four facility campus on 25 acres that’s only three years old. From our modestly furnished and modern residence hall to our state-of-the-art fitness center, we’re so much more than just another drug rehab: We’re the place where new lives are discovered, and the chains of addiction are left behind.

Every patient begins his or her journey in our safe, medically supervised detox program, where they’re comfortably weaned from the drugs that have become such a problem. From there, they’ll transition to one of our four residential addiction treatment programs: Newcomers, for first-time patients coming to grips with their disease; Recovery Renewal, for individuals who have been to a drug rehab previously or have relapsed after periods of abstinence; Young Adult, a more robust program for men ages 18 to 26; and our unique Women’s Program, which provides a safe place for female clients to process issues and traumas unique to their addiction experiences.

But that’s not all we provide: From traditional addiction treatment protocols to evidence-based clinical therapies … from Activity Therapy on our campus ropes course to dual diagnosis care for co-occurring mental health issues by our psychiatric team … from 12 Step meetings with others in the local recovery community to peer support groups that become second families … we offer a life change.

Because that’s what individuals who need addiction treatment deserve. For residents in or near Raleigh looking for a drug rehab, they won’t find a better one that Cornerstone of Recovery, and because we’re in network with most major commercial and private insurance plans, we can help you get away, get better and return to Raleigh better than when you leave it.

Your Recovery Journey Begins Here

Three Reasons Why You Need to Call Today to Get Addiction and Alcoholism Treatment

  • We’re in the middle of great economic uncertainty. Unemployment rates reached their highest levels in history in April, which means COVID-19 took a catastrophic toll on the job market this spring. If you have a job — or even if you don’t, but you still have benefits provided by your previous place of employment — you’re fortunate. And you should take advantage of those benefits to get the help you need for a drug or alcohol problem today, because there’s no guarantee you’ll have the resources to do so down the road.

  • No one is truly certain what life in the time of coronavirus looks like going forward. Yes, there are still new cases being logged daily, and yes, it’s certainly a health concern for anyone and everyone. But if you’re struggling with addiction and alcoholism, you’re already sick — and the disease you’re battling is far more likely to claim your life than COVID-19. Overdose deaths kill more Americans annually than all combat deaths in the Vietnam War, and alcohol-related deaths claim 88,000 lives yearly. If you have an alcohol or drug problem, you’re more likely to become one of those statistics than a COVID-19 victim.

  • Putting it off for another day is no longer an option. You may tell yourself that it is … and you may have made it this far without treatment … but are you truly living? In our experience — and many of us who work at Cornerstone are in recovery ourselves — suffering from addiction and alcoholism is just existing. Our problems slowly get worse, our health slowly declines and we’re stuck in wreckage of our own making, until we’re faced with two choices: get help, or lose everything. Why wait until the latter when with a simple phone call, you can choose the former?

Raleigh Drug Rehab Programs

As one of the nation’s premier addiction treatment centers, Cornerstone of Recovery traces its origins to the organization’s founder, a successful business executive who lost everything because of his alcoholism. After a final stint in alcohol rehab, he found the spark that so often eludes those who similarly suffer; through traditional abstinence-based recovery methods and evidence-based psycho-therapeutic tools, he came to believe that addicts and alcoholics around the Southeast needed an oasis of renewal where they would be able to stop using, lose the desire to do so and return home as responsible, productive and contented members of society.

Cornerstone began in 1989 in a small strip mall located just outside of Knoxville, Tenn., and over the next three decades has grown into one of the largest residential drug and alcohol treatment providers in the state. Today, on a new four-building campus along the banks of a tributary of the Tennessee River, we provide the same tools our founder used to recover, along with a host of clinical therapies and other tools that are all designed for a singular purpose: to give hope to those who need it most.

What Does Treatment Involve?

At Cornerstone of Recovery, we’ll help you remove that suit and find the true self you’ve kept hidden under a blanket of drugs for so long. And by leaving Raleigh for a temporary respite in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, you’ll do so in a new environment, free of distractions from the place you spent so much time getting high and away from the people who are so closely associated with your addiction. Here, you’ll join a group of peers in one of our four primary programs:

Newcomers Inpatient Program

No one fighting an addiction wakes up one day and skips joyfully off to drug rehab. In our Newcomer’s Addiction Treatment Program, we help patients new to the addiction and recovery process learn about their affliction, teach them better coping skills, introduce them to a better way of life and give them the tools they need to maintain it after they discharge, 28 to 35 days later.

Young Adult Inpatient Program

Young adults who start using drugs in their early teens often find themselves in early adulthood without ambition or hope. In our Young Adult Addiction Treatment Program, our goal is to help those individuals right their lives, discover their passions, ignite their ambitions and learn that a successful and rewarding future doesn’t have to include drugs.

Women Only Inpatient Program

Addiction leads men and women to the same places — jails, institutions, dereliction and degradation — but both genders experience different pitfalls along the way. In our Women’s Only Addiction Treatment Program, we provide a gender-specific sisterhood of female recovering addicts who lift one another up and help one another heal from the traumas that addiction can inflict.

While our residential treatment programs make up part of our treatment services, we also offer safe, medically supervised detox for any and all drugs and alcohol; Support Living facilities on campus where patients live during the duration of their stay; and outpatient treatment in the form of our Intensive Outpatient program, a 10-week course into which patients transition that gives them another layer of safety and security before they return home.

Does Cornerstone Accept My Health Insurance?

A drug rehab in or near Raleigh can provide you with the tools you need to get clean, but an addiction treatment center like Cornerstone of Recovery will give you that and so much more — as well as provide you with a place of healing removed from the triggers and temptations of the city where you live. The first step toward determining what coverage, if any, your health insurance plan provides is by calling us. Our trained, professional Admissions staff members will talk you through the process, gather your information and help determine the extent of your coverage, as well as any up-front costs that may be required through deductibles. We can help you arrange for payment plans and even refer you to other treatment providers if we’re unable to provide you with the help that you need.

If your insurance plan isn’t on this list, don’t despair. We can still examine your coverage and determine the best course of action for the help that you need. The biggest hurdle you face is that initial phone call, and we understand all too well how fearful that can be. We understand because many of us were once in your shoes: roughly 90 percent of our clinical staff, and as much as 60 percent of our administrative personnel, are in recovery themselves.

What Happens Next?

Once you make that initial phone call, it’s all downhill from there. By involving us in the process, we’ll pour over your insurance benefits and determine exactly what’s needed to get you in the door. We’ll help you figure out the best way and time to arrive, and we’ll be waiting to get you checked in and over to Assessment and Orientation, the first stop of your stay with us where we put together a treatment plan, complete your paperwork and get you over to Medical Detox as quickly as possible. After we help wean you from the substances with which you struggle, you’ll move into the treatment phase and begin to address why you struggle with them.

The goal, of course, isn’t to give you your old life back. As we continually advocate, recovery is about the discovery of a new life: not only free from drugs and alcohol, but from the issues that have been a part of your emotional core for years. Only by addressing what’s wrong on the inside can you return to Raleigh and begin to repair what’s happened on the outside, and with a firm foundation built at Cornerstone of Recovery, you’ll be able to find success, joy and happiness for decades to come.
