Inpatient Drug Rehab & Addiction Treatment Chattanooga TN

The 2019 “Picture of Health” report by the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department revealed a story all too familiar to communities across America: Overdose deaths continue to rise. Drugs continue to be a problem. And individuals struggling with them continue to need comprehensive addiction treatment.

Fortunately for residents in or near Chattanooga, there’s a nationally respected drug rehab just up Interstate 75, in the shadow of the Great Smoky Mountains. Cornerstone of Recovery is an addiction treatment center that’s been helping patients find a new way to live since 1989, many of them residents of the Chattanooga area who come to Knoxville because of our reputation. It’s one we’ve earned through dedication and commitment, and from an 18-bed facility in a suburban strip mall to a 172-bed, four facility campus on 25 acres that opened in 2017, we’ve grown exponentially without ever losing sight of our mission: That anyone who suffers from addiction can stop using, get the tools they need to stay stopped and find a new way to cope with life without having to use drugs to do so.

Every patient who wants to be a part of that mission begins in our safe, medically supervised detox unit, where we keep them as comfortable as possible for a 3- to 5-day period while the drugs are purged from their bodies. They’ll then transition to one of our four addiction treatment programs: Newcomers, for those who have no recovery experience and are just beginning their journeys; Recovery Renewal, for drug rehab veterans who may even have sustained some clean time but have fallen victim to relapse; Young Adult, a more active program for men ages 18 to 26; and our unique Women’s Program, an insulated community of female patients, led by female counselors, that gives women a safe space in which to process and deal with issues and traumas unique to them.

From one-on-one counseling to peer support groups to dual diagnosis treatment by our psychiatric team for co-occurring disorders … from trauma therapy to family therapy (including an immersive two-day Family Fundamentals weekend during which time family members come to campus) … from 12 Step groups to physical exercise in our state-of-the-art on-campus fitness center … we believe that addiction treatment involves so much more than simply stopping the use of drugs. If that was the only solution, then places like Cornerstone wouldn’t be necessary. Addiction doesn’t work like that, however, and often the obsession and compulsion to continue to use, even in spite of negative consequences, is built around deep mental and emotional scars that need the right treatment to properly heal.

At Cornerstone of Recovery, we provide that treatment — and because we’re in network with most major commercial and private health insurance plans, chances are we have a place here for you. We’re so much more than just another drug rehab, and it’s our belief that those who live in or near Chattanooga won’t find a better addiction treatment option than what we offer, just a short drive away.

Three Reasons Why You Need to Call Today to Get Addiction and Alcoholism Treatment

  • We’re in the middle of great economic uncertainty. Unemployment rates reached their highest levels in history in April, which means COVID-19 took a catastrophic toll on the job market this spring. If you have a job — or even if you don’t, but you still have benefits provided by your previous place of employment — you’re fortunate. And you should take advantage of those benefits to get the help you need for a drug or alcohol problem today, because there’s no guarantee you’ll have the resources to do so down the road.

  • No one is truly certain what life in the time of coronavirus looks like going forward. Yes, there are still new cases being logged daily, and yes, it’s certainly a health concern for anyone and everyone. But if you’re struggling with addiction and alcoholism, you’re already sick — and the disease you’re battling is far more likely to claim your life than COVID-19. Overdose deaths kill more Americans annually than all combat deaths in the Vietnam War, and alcohol-related deaths claim 88,000 lives yearly. If you have an alcohol or drug problem, you’re more likely to become one of those statistics than a COVID-19 victim.

  • Putting it off for another day is no longer an option. You may tell yourself that it is … and you may have made it this far without treatment … but are you truly living? In our experience — and many of us who work at Cornerstone are in recovery ourselves — suffering from addiction and alcoholism is just existing. Our problems slowly get worse, our health slowly declines and we’re stuck in wreckage of our own making, until we’re faced with two choices: get help, or lose everything. Why wait until the latter when with a simple phone call, you can choose the former?

Chattanooga Drug Rehab Programs

Those who find themselves caught up in the repetitious cycle of addiction often suffer in a number of ways, from health problems to psychological issues like depression to a general inability to cope with life without the use of drugs.

At Cornerstone, the professional care offered by our counselors and therapists addresses those root causes of addiction. In addition to peer support and one-on-one counseling, our treatment for drug abuse and addiction involves regular fitness participation to engage the body; Activity Therapy to engage the mind; and mindfulness exercises to engage the spirit.

Our whole-person approach to treatment means that every patient who comes to us is assigned an individualized treatment plan to determine which areas of life need to be addressed, and through a combination of education, therapy and training, we help those afflicted find their way back out of a darkness in which they’ve lived for far too long.

What Does Treatment Involve?

From scientifically proven methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Schema Therapy to 12 Step-based therapy with a group of peers, our residential/inpatient programs are tailored to the specific needs of the individual:

Newcomers Residential Program

The Newcomers Addiction Treatment Program welcomes patients with little to no exposure to 12 Step recovery or traditional drug and alcohol treatment regimens, and education is a crucial component of this 28- to 35-day program. Some of the goals for Newcomer patients are to address the ways in which substance abuse is used as a coping mechanism for a variety of biological, psychological, sociological and spiritual maladies and life traps.

Young Adult Residential

Young men ages 18 to 26 who develop a problem with drugs often find that their lives are off-track before they’ve truly begun. In our Young Adult Addiction Treatment Program, we combine traditional drug rehab therapies and methodologies with elements of vocational rehabilitation, so that they can work on their substance abuse problem while figuring out what their futures can look like without the hindrance of an addiction.

Recovery Renewal Program

Patients in our Recovery Renewal Addiction Treatment Program often come to us feeling defeated or demoralized following a relapse after previous drug rehab attempts or periods of abstinence. In this program, however, they’ll take a deeper dive into the issues, stumbling blocks, traumas and traits that have prevented them from achieving the peace of long-term recovery.

Women’s Drug Rehab Program

The Women’s Addiction Treatment Program is tailored specifically for female clients, many of whom find that processing physically and emotionally traumatic life events that precipitate and coincide with addiction is easier to do when supported by other women. This program is a unique, gender-specific safe space to do just that, and the end result is a sisterhood of strong ladies who lift one another up as they work toward the common goal of addiction recovery.

Regardless of the specificity of the treatment program, the same goal of each is the same: lifelong, successful recovery that gives each patient the opportunity of a new life free from the bondage of addiction.

Does Cornerstone Accept My Health Insurance?

Addiction and financial stability are often mutually exclusive statuses. If you live in or near Chattanooga and are in need of addiction treatment, chances are good you’re not flush with the funds required to pay for it. However, if you have a commercial health insurance policy, you likely have access to behavioral health benefits that will help pay for the recovery you need in a quality drug rehab like Cornerstone.

Cornerstone of Recovery is an in-network provider with most major health insurance plans, and our business staff members have years of experiencing navigating the fine print of health insurance policies to get the most out of your benefits. If you’re desperate for help, and want to leave Chattanooga to get it, then call us, and let us help you initiate that journey.
