At Cornerstone of Recovery, we know the misery that is your constant companion. Cornerstone of Recovery has a wide variety of intensive outpatient and inpatient alcohol and drug rehab programs that will be tailored to the individual needs of our patients. We believe in a whole-person approach to addiction treatment that rehabilitates the bodies, minds and spirits of our patients, and we leave no stone unturned in our efforts to return our clients to physical, mental and emotional health. Cornerstone, located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, provides a place where substance abuse and mental health issues can be addressed head on, so that healing may begin. Our programs are based on the Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual model of treatment and the 12 Step approach to recovery, and we pride ourselves on the individualized treatment plans we develop for each and every patient, the goals of which are to dispel the darkness of their disease and allow that individual to function as a responsible, productive member of society.
We provide medical detox services that allow our patients to safely withdraw from drugs and alcohol, and the therapeutic elements of our program include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Integration Training (AAIT), Schema Therapy, Family Therapy, Individual and Group Therapy, Activity Therapy, Fitness, Chronic Pain Management and Psychoeducational groups and lectures. Each patient will be involved in individual and group therapy with a master’s level therapist, in addition to other processing groups that offer counselor and peer support.

Medical Detox
Each of our programs includes a medically supervised detox that offers a safe environment to rid your body of substances and begin the healing process.
Inpatient Programs
Our residential alcohol and drug rehab programs last anywhere from 28 to 35 days depending on patient needs. After completion patients will be enrolled into either our Intensive Outpatient or Aftercare Programs.
Outpatient Rehab Programs
In addition to inpatient treatment programs we have an Intensive Outpatient program which is typically recommended for those who have not suffered any consequences due to their addiction or have recently completed an inpatient program and need additional work to maintain sobriety.
Family Fundamentals
During this event our patients loved ones are invited to Cornerstone for a day of learning about the science and treatment of addiction, and to participate in some therapeutic exercises to help them better understand their loved one and what they can do to help them in the future.
Aftercare Program
Once a patient completes one of our programs our commitment is just beginning.
Alcoholism & Drug Addiction Treatment Programs
Cornerstone has developed alcohol and drug rehab & recovery programs to fit the needs of our patients. As with many things in life, there is not a one size fits all approach to treating the addiction disease. Through a proper assessment and evaluation period, Cornerstone of Recovery can make the best recommendation for each individual that will give them the best opportunity to achieve a lasting recovery.
Newcomers Residential Program
Clinically, the Newcomers Residential Alcohol & Drug Rehab Program is inpatient based and typically lasts between 28 and 35 days, during which time our trained counselors and other professionals develop individual treatment plans for each patient according to needs, backgrounds and situations. During that process, patients participate in a 12-Step recovery.
Recovery Renewal Program
Intensive residential inpatient program for those who have tried to stay clean in the past but been unsuccessful, even after exposure to an addiction treatment program and 12 step programs in the past. It’s designed to help patients target the triggers and issues that factor into their inability to stay clean and the factors that lead to a relapse
Young Adult Residential
Our Young Adult Residential rehab and recovery program is specifically structured for persons between the ages of 18 and 26. Understanding that this age group faces its own unique set of circumstances, our clinical staff focuses on developmental issues, behavior styles, and energy levels specific to the young adult.
Women’s Program
Intensive residential inpatient program for those who have tried to stay clean in the past but been unsuccessful, even after exposure to an addiction treatment program and 12 step programs in the past.
